5月31日、欧州サッカー連盟（UEFA）が主催する『FIFA 19』によるeスポーツ大会「UEFA eChampions League（以下eCL）」決勝大会がスペイン・マドリッドにて開催された。同決勝大会に辿り着いた8選手によるトーナメントの結果、アメリカ代表クリス選手（ニューヨーク・シティFC）が初優勝。初代eCL王者に輝いた。

■eCL決勝戦

決勝戦は、アメリカ代表クリス選手と、ブルガリア代表ナイトウォッチ選手の対戦となった。1stレグ・2ndレグの2試合を戦い、合計得点を6対3としたクリス選手が見事に勝利。初代eCL王者の栄誉と、優勝賞金10万ドル（約1082万円）を獲得した。

なお、eCL優勝のクリス選手は、翌日6月1日に行われる実際のチャンピオンズリーグ決勝戦にゲストとして参加する。決勝戦の会場、ワンダ・メトロポリターノスタジアムのピッチサイドにて、改めてトロフィー授与式が行われる予定だ。
